It’s that time of year again. I’m not talking about the holiday season, which admittedly, I haven’t really been getting into as much this year. No, I’m talking about voting season for the yearly Hottest 100 beers.
Two years running I’ve posted my top 5 picks, with last year getting in a sneaky bonus 5 votes. This year, however, I’m not going to try and convince you to vote for one beer or another (not that my opinions have much sway in that dominion anyway) by telling you where my votes are landing.
I will, however, be urging you to give a bit of thought to your great local brewers, especially here in Queensland. I, like many others, were a bit disheartened to see only 7 QLD brews make it into the 2015 list. With the level of brewing in this fine state, it would be a shame to have this happen again. Be kind and throw a few votes there way.
So with this ethos, I can say that all 5 of my votes will be heading to local breweries that produce some top class beverages. The rest will remain a mystery, other than saying that White Lies IPA is taking my #1 spot.
You can place your votes here and win some pretty cool swag, including a VIP package to the 2016 Great Australian Beer Spectapular. Voting has begun now and closes January 18th.
So please, give your local breweries a hand with a vote or two, or vote for whomever you choose. I’m not your mum, so you really don’t have to listen to me.
