It’s that time of year again! The 4th annual Brewsvegas festival is kicking off next week and I for one am pumped that it’s back.

With such a large program, it can sometimes be a bit difficult to select your itinerary and if you’re a bit of a spend-thrift like I, you tend to look for the events that are going to give you the most bang for your buck.

To help with this, I’ve selected 5 events that I believe stretch your dollar while still providing some frothy fun. For the list, I’ve excluded any free events, but there are tons out there, so have a look at the official Brewsvegas program for some!

The Milton Good Beer Trail

Milton’s grown quite a bit this last year, and you can experience it with a beer-filled stroll through the area. The local legends from Scratch and Brewski are joined by area new-comers Aether Brewing and Newstead for a 4 venue, 4 beer, pub crawl.

Your $20 ticket gets you a punch card and a schooner of special collaboration brew at each venue. Also, if you finish the mere 1.4 km trail, you’ll be rewarded with a commemorative stubby cooler!

Tickets purchased through Eventbrite.

Saturday 11 March – $130 – Various Venues

Despite a pretty hefty looking price tag, this event is packed with value. The awesome folks at Hop On Brewery Tours are taking folks from Aether Brewing in Milton to 4 Hearts in Ipswich, White Lies in Sumner, and Ballistic down in Salisbury! Google Maps tells me this is almost 80 km of travel!

Besides sitting back and letting the knowledgeable Hop On folks drive you around, you will also get lunch at 4 Hearts, tasting paddles at all 4 breweries and a tour of the facilities!

Tickets purchased on the Hop On Website.

Saturday 11 March – $75 – Ballistic Brewery

Ever wanted to start brewing yourself? Why not let the folks from Brewers Choice and Ballistic Beer get you heading down the right path?

$75 gets you $95 worth of kit to get you started. They’ll also be walking you through your first brew as you make up a 20 L batch of a variation of Ballistic Beer’s “Psycho” IPA! Talk about value!

Tickets purchased through TryBooking.

Tuesday 14 March – $70 – Green Beacon Brewery Teneriffe

Proper beer glassware is the best friend of any established or budding connoisseur and the folks at Green Beacon Brewing have teamed up with Spiegelau to tell you why!

The ticket price includes 3 Spiegelau glasses to build your collection which you will use to sample 3 previously unreleased Green Beacon beers, a pizza from the delicious Pizzantica, and a beer on arrival as well as afterwards! Bargain!

Tickets purchased through Eventbrite.

kt-cookoff-fbpostad-1024x10245th Annual Chili Cook Off

Sunday 19 March – $15- Kettle and Tin

Kettle and Tin‘s chili cook-off has been a staple of Brewsvegas since the inception of the festival. It’s also the final day of the week long event, and what better way to soak up all the latent booze in your system than with some A+ chili!

Ticket price gets you a beer and a voting ticket!

Tickets purchased at the door.

Honourable MentionBrews and Bacon’s West End Pub Hop
Friday 17 March – $30 – Various Venues

I figured putting my event in at the top of the list was a bit of a favouritist move, so I am relegating it to the bottom of the page as an addendum.

Last year’s event was a blast and this year is shaping up to be just as good. The $30 ticket gets you a beer at each venue while you follow me around and listen to me talk about beer. Now that I think of it, there’s little value in that. To make it up, there will be some great food and drink specials along the way and, of course, a really great time!

Tickets purchased through TryBooking.
