IPA Day takes over Ballistic Brewery
Every August all over the globe beer enthusiasts get together to celebrate one of the most enjoyed craft beers in the world; the India Pale Ale.
“IPA Day” is the international celebration of that wonderful brew.
Ballistic Beer Co has gotten into the swing and is putting on a celebration fitting to the wonderful beer style.
Friday August the 4th is set to go off at Ballistic according to Head Brewer Lachy Crothers. “We’re pulling out all the stops with four brand new IPAs to add to our tap line-up. For IPA lovers this will be an event not to miss.”
With new IPAs comes an opportunity to explore food-pairing options. For this event Ballistic have brought on the help of two of Brissy’s best food trucks to attend to the crowd with menus tailored specifically to match the IPAs.
Phat Foods and Rolls Pho Mi will have customer’s mouths watering with their range. “We’ve got everyone covered,” says David Kitchen. “Phat Foods did an amazing job at our recent Crafty Salisbury Winter Festival, serving up a variety of hot meals to the very large group we had down for the day. We will be working with them closely in the lead up to the IPA Day event to develop a food menu that compliments our beers.”
David went on to express his excitement for the second food truck. “If you’re after Asian style IPA pairings, Rolls Pho Mi have been one of our most popular food trucks to date, with incredible pho! We’re not sure what they have up their sleeves yet but we’re looking forward to working with them to create some magical pairings.”
Lachy gave an insight into the new IPAs to be premiered on the day. “We collaborated with our bar staff and brewed a particularly exciting Black IPA, which has more hops that I have ever used in my entire career. We used all the good ones; Mosaic, Citra, and Simcoe. It’s tasting fantastic and I’m pumped for everyone to try it. We’ve also got a Double Psycho, as well as an Oak Fermented Citra IPA, and Coffee IPA, in addition to our standards, Australian Psycho and Fortnight SHIPA.”
But Lachy warns these beers won’t be around for long. “These are all small batches so IPA lovers will need to get down on the night to make sure they get some before they’re all gone!”
Brisbane band ‘Something Whisky’, will play throughout the event, making Ballistic a particularly exciting place to be on a Friday evening.
Make sure you note it in your diary now. With 6 IPAs, food pairing and live music, you do not want to miss this fantastic event!
